Ed Sheeran - Bullying Story DLO

Powered by emaze

This is my reading DLO on how Ed Sheeran was bullied as a child. When I was editing/making this, I found some interesting information about Ed Sheeran and his childhood. If you're willing to find out what information then you should give my DLO a chance.

Hangi Moment In Time

It was a dull cloudy day and people were gathered around a cage of food. There appears to be a school respectfully standing around it. They could feel the heat from the hangi blowing towards them. In the background, I can see a big, teal, car with a trailer hooked to it.

I can see six, strong men and one strong female. They’re all helping each other to carefully put the hangi in the ground so they can bury it underneath all that dirt and coal.

Many people are here to celebrate the hangi. They can smell the delicious smell of the cooked bread. In the background, I can see beautiful green trees blowing in the wind. Each tree has a different shade of green, it goes from light green to dark green.

I can see two adults standing beside the kids, patiently waiting for the Hangi to be carefully set down so they can feast on some delicious, well cooked, food.

The grass was a dull green colour and it had patches of dirt scattered throughout. In the hole, I can see leaves that have been laid down carefully so the fire has something to grip onto when it’s burning.

Collaborative Version

On a wet, ugly, day 7 strong men looked like they were struggling to lay the hangi into a hole that they dug. Grey clouds were blocking the sun from coming out. Dew was dripping off the damp wet grass. I can see grass with a dull green colour and it had patches of dirt scattered throughout.

There is a school standing patiently in the shade. The kids in the background looked like they were a whole school and they were wearing different shades of blue for their uniform. There are trees flowing swiftly in the wind. There are two cars in the background.

A hangi is usually celebrated among Maori people. A Hangi is a traditional New Zealand Maori method of cooking food using heated rocks buried in a pit oven called ‘hangi.’ Maori people normally have hangi on special occasions such as funerals and Christmas etc.

Mouthwatering hangi covered up in the foil. In a Hangi people usually cook fish, chicken, pork, mutton, lamb, potato, pumpkin, cabbage and root vegetables such as kumara sweet potato etc. There is a pile of coal that is used to help cook the hangi.

Many people have gathered around the pit to see the hangi being laid down. They’re taro leaves that have been laid neatly into the hole, ready to be burnt. They could smell the hangi being burnt underneath the pit. It smells like burnt fire. The people must have kept the leaves so that the food cooks well and taste delicious.

I can see two adults standing beside the kids, patiently waiting for the Hangi to be carefully set down so they can feast on some delicious, well cooked, food. It may take 8 to 10 hours for the hangi to get ready. I hope they all enjoyed the hangi.

The Octopus and the Seal

It was a sunny, hot, dry, day and there were men kayaking through the deep, dark, blue ocean. In the background, I can see a tropical, sandy beach with a hill full of green grass. Until suddenly, out of nowhere a seal from the water slaps the man with an octopus. The man looks confused and shocked. His face is slimy and wet and he can smell the salt from the air and can feel the sun, glistening on his face.

They can hear the splashes of the water colliding together as they kayak through the deep ocean. They can feel a soft breeze, brushing against their faces. Behind the man in front, is another person kayaking with green paddles. The kayaker in front of him is desperately trying to shoo the octopus away by using his paddles to throw it back into the ocean.

The octopus has a yellowish, orange skin colour and suction cups on all 8 of its legs. The seal has a nice, dark, grey fur coat. It has big, beady, black eyes like buttons and white whiskers on its face, just like how cats have whiskers

The kayaker is wearing a blue hat and sunglasses to protect himself from the hot glare of the sun.

Underneath is our collaborative writing

The day was cloudless, as the floating face of the sun glistened with liveliness. In the distance, was a hill of grassy fields fading to tiny grains of sand that lead to the ocean. The water was a dark blue colour, implying that it was very deep.

Kayaking through the ocean was a man, wearing a light blue hat, floating through the water in a yellow kayak. Strapped around his body was a black life jacket with a yellow seam down the middle. Along with him were a few other people, who could’ve been his friends, family or a group of tourist.

He and other people were having a good time. Until suddenly, a fearsome seal pounced out of the water and slapped the young man with a medium sized octopus. The seal had a dark grey, fur coat, white whiskers and big, black, beady eyes. The octopus had eight long tentacles with] suction cups on each one of them. It was a mixture of pink, orange and brown in colour.

Prays of the faithful - By Cleo

Heavenly Father,

Christ the King is an amazing school to go to. They’re many supportive, dedicated and most of all wonderful teachers that push themselves to give us education. Our school has a variety of different students from around the world. It’s what makes us unique, But one of the things I mostly love about this school is that we forgive each other in the end!

Lord hear us.

My Bio Poem

Cleo

Wonderful at drawing, kind like her mother, loveable like her family and compassionate towards others.
She’s the sister of Jamie, Troi and Cleeve and the daughter of Dee and Hudee.

She loves the taste of chocolate, cute animals and her loving family.
She hates rude people, terrible arguments and vehemently dislikes paper cuts.

She dreams of visiting Disney World in America, becoming an amazing animator and taking care of sick animals.
She fears the height of the Sky Tower, bugs like praying mantises and absolutely fears kidnappers.

She would like to see a real-life performance, a famous singer’s concert and she would really love to see her sister in real life.
She is determined to become a famous animator, save the abused, poor and hungry animals and help the people she meets along the way.

Cleo values the love from someone, patience within people and she mostly values honesty.
Some things she values about herself are her soccer skills, love for any animal and her running skills.

She’s proud of her loving family, the friends who support her and her talents. This loving person lives in Blockhouse Bay, a place where she can be herself.

Science - Detergent, Food Colouring and Milk!

In Room 1 we did science!
This science experiment is to see the reaction when we put milk, detergent and food colouring together. This experiment was amazing and I never knew what the detergent would do until I tried this out! If you want to find out what happened then I suggest you try this out yourself!
