Week 1 ~ Day 3 - Activity 1

Gaboon Viper.

Have you ever seen a Gaboon Viper in real life? Well, these fascinating creatures of illusion and disguise are commonly found in dense rainforests of, Africa. In rainforests, these intriguing animals like to spend most of their time on the ground or close to the ground. While some Gaboon Vipers prefer to stay on the edges of forests. So if you've ever wanted to see these fantastic animals up a close, I suggest you take a trip to Africa and try to find them, hidden underneath or between the edges of rainforests and floors.

  1. Good morning Cleo!

My name is Rachel and I working with Megan and Cia on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. I am really lucky because it is my job today to read the posts from students at Christ the King School and provide comments. I feel really lucky as I love to read great posts and to learn new things.

Today I particularly liked the description that you provided of your beast the 'Gaboon Viper.' It sounds like a very interesting creature who is a little bit elusive (hard to find). It sounds like the Gaboon Viper likes to move quietly and slip from one area to another without being seen. I wonder how the Gaboon Vipers first arrived in Africa. Do you think that they were born here or did they move to Africa from somewhere else?

I was personally born in Canada and moved to New Zealand about eight years ago. I've never had the chance to visit Africa but, after reading your post, I am inspired to head over and see if I can find some interesting animals roaming around the deserts and the forests.

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Cleo! I'm looking forward to reading more of your work over the coming weeks.

    All the best,
    Rachel
